Gold Ghost

The artwork of a Gold Ghost from Luigi's Mansion

The Gold Ghost, which isn't gold at all but orange, is the first ghost that Luigi encounters in Luigi's Mansion, in the Parlor, at first when he first gets the key from a 'gold spirit' in the Foyer, then after blowing all six candles out with the Poltergust 3000. The paintings in the room would come to life, then the doors would seal up and three of these ghouls would appear, one-by-one. These normal ghosts would only have ten HP and would be easy to beat once Luigi was accustomed to his new vacuum. But it's best to watch out for their punch attack. They would reappear countless times in the mansion, found in groups of two or more. And they can be hurt by any element. Although, they are callled "Gold Ghosts", they are usually orange in color.

A Gold Ghost cameos in several later Mario games. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, a Gold Ghost briefly cameos in Starbeans Cafe. In Mario Power Tennis, the Gold Ghost, as well as several other generic ghost species from Luigi's Mansion, appear on the Luigi's Mansion tennis court and in the mini-game Terror Tennis. In Mario Party 8, Gold Ghosts cameo in a mini-game. The Gold Ghost also appears as a part of a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
